Dr. Gotreaux is a native of Lacassine, Louisiana where she grew up on her family’s beef cattle farm with horses, goats, dogs, and lots of cows. She graduated from Lacassine High School, then attended McNeese State University where she majored in Agricultural Science with a focus on Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, class of 2021. Dr. Gotreaux is a full-time associate veterinarian at Lake Area Animal Hospital and her primary interests include preventative care medicine, soft tissue surgery, and ultrasonography. Dr. Gotreaux currently resides in Lacassine with her husband, Mark, and their three cats, Letty, Mia, and Hazel. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and reading fiction/fantasy books.

We adopted my sweet pup, Basil, at Lake Area Animal Hospital years ago. It was evident that the staff loved and cared for Basil. They even sent us home with a list of thing Basil liked and didn’t like. We have also had a dog treated for diabetes at Lake Area Hospital. The staff was knowledgeable and trained our family to give him his insulin.

I love the veterinarians and the medical staff. They were very loving toward my fur baby Lucy and they even snapped a picture with her doing some tricks! She always loves getting treats from them while they do what they need to do and they are so careful not to hurt her or make her feel uncomfortable. And they also give her all the belly rubs.
